We’ve tried to answer our most “frequently asked questions” below, but if you can’t find the answer, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Will my repair look brand new?
Unfortunately our magic wand is currently on loan to a bike maintenance shop who had a few tricky repairs. Therefore, we can’t turn back time and erase the damage done to your gear.
We endeavour to make your repair practical, functional and as neat as possible so you can continue to use and enjoy your item. Please see our socials and gallery for previous repairs we have done.
What is colour matching or contrasting?
Due to the vast number of colours and materials used in outdoor gear we cannot guarantee an exact colour or material match. Colour matching means the repair will be the closest colour match as possible to the original garment. Alternatively, you can request a contrasting colour, this is where we use a different colour to enhance the repair (we love this approach, it can look super funky)

How do I get my Gear to RWC?
You are responsible for getting your gear to us via post or drop off to:
RWC Outdoor Gear Repairs, 1 Butterwick Cottages, Butterwick, Penrith, Cumbria, CA10 2QQ If you’re passing and want to drop off / come and see us at our workshop, please contact us prior to ensure we are available and not out on the fells.
How much is return postage?
Postage is £6.50 for a 48hr tracked service with £150 compensation cover. (Original proof of purchase required)
For heavier, bulky items or items of high value we will endeavour to get the appropriate postage at the best price for you. This will be arranged with you and quoted once your item is assessed.
FYI our carrier Pigeon service is temporarily unavailable due to Pigeon strikes!
How do I pay for my repair?
We send you an invoice once the repair has been completed for you to pay via BACS or cheque. Once we have received payment, we will return your item to you.
Do I have a guarantee/warranty with the repair I’ve had done?
We offer a 6 month warranty on our repairs.
What’s the current turnaround time?
Please contact us to ask, as it changes regularly. If you need your repair done for a specific date or an express service, please ask and we will try to accommodate.
I’m not happy with my repair what do I do?
One you’ve received your repair you have 14 days to get back in touch with us should you be unhappy about the service.
Please contact us and we will assess the repair and either offer a repeat repair (returning the item back to us is to be covered yourself) or a repair refund. Postage or travel costs are non-refundable.
